In our dust extraction professions, the fan is the mechanical device, coupled with an electric motor, necessary to create a depression in the pipe network used to extract air laden with chips and sawdust.
Practically, the air sucked in by the rotating motion of the impeller passes through the fan's inlet and is then expelled. The impeller is a disk onto which blades are welded. The blades are inclined backward and accentuate the "centrifugal" effect. Depending on the size of your duct network, its length, the pressure drop to be overcome, and the required flow rate, a fan must be selected by a professional. They will determine whether the suctioned air is laden with chips and then advise you accordingly.
